WHY – One of the best representations of a country’s culture is food, and that is what brings most people together. Asian Kaleidoscope Month 2013 is excited to bring you its next big event, the Asian Food Festival.

Eleven countries will be represented this year from the following student organizations:
Bangladeshi Students’ Association (Bangladesh)
Chinese American Student Association (China)
Freshman Leadership Program (Cambodia)
Filipino Student Association (The Philippines)
Health Educated Asian Leaders (Mongolia)
Indian Students Association (India)
Japanese Club (Japan)
Kappa Phi Lambda, Pi Delta Psi, alpha Kappa Delta Phi (Thailand)
Korean Undergraduate Student Association (Korea)
Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (United Arab Emirates)
Vietnamese Student Organization (Vietnam)
You will be able to sample foods from three countries of your choice. You will also be given a “passport” in which you will be able to take part in every country’s cultural activity. Once you complete an activity, you will receive a sticker. When you receive a sticker from each country and complete the passport, you will be able to enter a raffle for some great prizes at the end of the event!

In addition, we will be having our first-ever Eating Contest, sponsored by Maui Teriyaki. There will be five, separate rounds in which you will be able to cheer on your friends as they fight for a place in the Final Round at Maui Teriyaki (Time/Date TBA).
We will be having donation jars for each of our contestants. All proceeds will be donated to AKM’s philanthropy, Love146. Love146 is a non-profit international human rights organization that works toward the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation through advocacy, prevention, and aftercare. The contestant who raises the most money for Love146 will be crowned the AKM Eating Contest Fan Favorite. Support your friends and our philanthropy by donating!
If we reach our fundraising goal before the end of the Eating Contest, Mr. and Miss. AASU 2013 will have to eat something “exciting.” This is something you won’t want to miss, so please donate!
